K-8 Reconfiguration Data Collection Dear Orleans Central Supervisory Union Parents and Guardians; The Lake Region Elementary Middle School District Board is researching the possibility of implementing a grade band reconfiguration across our six K-8 schools for next year (August 2024). This process requires the review of data and various models in order to make a well-informed decision. If you want to follow the discussion, please go to the OCSU.org website and under the Board Option you will find board meeting agendas and minutes. One of the data points that must be collected is feedback and input from our families. If you have or will have a child(ren) in one of our K-8 schools during the 2024-2025 school year (from the towns of Albany, Barton, Brownington, Glover, Irasburg, Orleans and Westmore), please take a few minutes to complete this online survey. PLEASE use this link: https://forms.gle/9FCsmuvHJHG3hX6A9 If you are unable to complete it electronically, please stop in at one of our school’s offices or the Central Office on 130 Kinsey Road in Barton to fill out a paper copy. We appreciate your time and effort in this process. We need to collect all feedback and input from this survey by Wednesday, February 7th at 4:00 p.m. If you need assistance, feel free to contact any of the principal offices or call my office at 802-525-1204.

Get on Board! Pre-Board Candidate Training December 12, 2023 6:00-7:00pm The VT School Boards Association (VSBA) recognizes the value that diversity brings to school board governance. Therefore, VSBA is helping districts increase the number of qualified candidates who run for open seats and improve representation on boards. WHY? For a number of years there’s been a growing number of school districts that have had to fill board member vacancies via appointments rather than through the electoral process. By identifying resources, removing barriers and delivering information,VSBA hopes to encourage community members to consider engaging in the important service school boards provide. Please take this opportunity to learn how you can “get on board” and help make the decisions that will shape our children’s future.
