From the CDC:
While COVID-19 still poses a significant health threat to people at higher risk, its health impacts are now similar to other respiratory viruses, like the flu, which are also important causes of illness and death, especially for people at higher risk. As a result, this is the right time to issue unified Respiratory Virus Guidance, rather than additional guidance for each specific virus.
What to Do When you Have or May Have a Respiratory Virus:
Stay home and away from others (including people you live with who are not sick) if you have respiratory virus symptoms that aren't better explained by another cause. These symptoms can include fever, chills, fatigue, cough, runny nose, and headache, among others.
You can go back to your normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, both are true:
Your symptoms are getting better overall, and
You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication).
When you go back to your normal activities, take added precaution over the next 5 days, such as taking additional steps for cleaner air, hygiene, masks, physical distancing, and/or testing when you will be around other people indoors.
Keep in mind that you may still be able to spread the virus that made you sick, even if you are feeling better. You are likely to be less contagious at this time, depending on factors like how long you were sick or how sick you were.
If you develop a fever or you start to feel worse after you have gone back to normal activities, stay home and away from others again until, for at least 24 hours, both are true: your symptoms are improving overall, and you have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication). Then take added precaution for the next 5 days.

K-8 Reconfiguration Data Collection
Dear Orleans Central Supervisory Union Parents and Guardians;
The Lake Region Elementary Middle School District Board is researching the possibility of implementing a grade band reconfiguration across our six K-8 schools for next year (August 2024).
This process requires the review of data and various models in order to make a well-informed decision. If you want to follow the discussion, please go to the OCSU.org website and under the Board Option you will find board meeting agendas and minutes.
One of the data points that must be collected is feedback and input from our families. If you have or will have a child(ren) in one of our K-8 schools during the 2024-2025 school year (from the towns of Albany, Barton, Brownington, Glover, Irasburg, Orleans and Westmore), please take a few minutes to complete this online survey.
PLEASE use this link: https://forms.gle/9FCsmuvHJHG3hX6A9
If you are unable to complete it electronically, please stop in at one of our school’s offices or the Central Office on 130 Kinsey Road in Barton to fill out a paper copy.
We appreciate your time and effort in this process.
We need to collect all feedback and input from this survey by Wednesday, February 7th at 4:00 p.m.
If you need assistance, feel free to contact any of the principal offices or call my office at 802-525-1204.
